POSTRIVET / LEGAL
Terms of Service
Effective October 5, 2026 · Last updated October 5, 2026
These terms explain your rights and responsibilities when using PostRivet, including our website, account tools, scheduling features, and API (the “Service”). Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. Your agreement with PostRivet
“PostRivet,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator identified below. “You” means the person using the Service or the organization that person is authorized to represent. By creating an account or using the Service after being presented with these terms, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the Service.
Luke Patterson, operator of PostRivet Texas, United States legal@postrivet.com2. Accounts and eligibility
You must be legally able to enter a binding agreement and meet the minimum age and eligibility requirements of every platform you connect. If you act for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind it and manage its accounts.
Provide accurate account information, keep your credentials secure, and use only social accounts you own or are authorized to manage. You are responsible for actions you authorize through your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. Do not share passwords or authorization tokens with us by email. We may restrict registration, account access, or resource usage to protect the Service.
3. Connected platforms and scheduled publishing
Connecting a social account authorizes PostRivet to communicate with that platform within the permissions you approve. When you schedule content, you instruct us to store it, process associated media, and attempt to publish it to the selected account at the selected time. This authorization includes refreshing access credentials, retrying eligible failures, and checking publication results.
Review the destination, content, attachments, time zone, and schedule before submitting. A scheduled time is a target, not a guaranteed delivery time. Outages, expired permissions, moderation, quotas, rate limits, and platform changes may delay, reject, duplicate, or prevent publication. Check delivery status and the destination platform, especially for time-sensitive posts. PostRivet is not an emergency messaging service.
Cancellation, editing, or disconnection may not stop a request already sent to a platform. Cancelling a schedule or closing your PostRivet account does not remove a post already published elsewhere. Manage published content directly with the destination platform. You can revoke PostRivet’s authorization through that platform where supported.
Bluesky and other supported services are independent third parties. Their terms, privacy policies, and content rules also apply. We do not control their availability, actions, audience, or retention of published material, and their inclusion does not imply endorsement or affiliation.
4. Your content and permissions
You retain ownership of the text, images, videos, and other material you submit. You grant us a limited, nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, copy, process, format, transmit, and publish that material only as needed to provide, secure, and maintain the Service and follow your instructions. We may use service providers to perform those functions. This does not transfer ownership of your content or grant us a general right to use it in advertising.
You confirm that you have the rights, permissions, and lawful basis needed to submit and publish your material, including rights relating to copyright, trademarks, privacy, publicity, and people depicted in media. You are responsible for required disclosures, attribution, and advertising labels. Do not submit confidential information that you are not authorized to share or information whose publication would create an unreasonable risk to someone.
This license ends when the relevant material is deleted from our active systems, except as necessary for limited backup, security, legal, or dispute-retention purposes described in the Privacy Policy. It does not undo publication or copies retained by third parties. Keep your own copies; PostRivet is not a backup or archival service.
5. Acceptable use
You must not use the Service to:
- Break applicable law, infringe others’ rights, or violate the rules of a connected platform.
- Publish unlawful threats, exploitative material, harassment, fraudulent claims, or another person’s private information without authority.
- Send spam, impersonate others deceptively, manipulate engagement, or evade platform bans or enforcement.
- Upload malware, steal credentials, probe accounts without permission, or interfere with security or availability.
- Bypass authentication, account boundaries, usage limits, or other technical restrictions, or resell access without our permission.
- Use the API or automation in a manner that overloads the Service or facilitates any prohibited activity.
We may investigate suspected misuse and restrict access or remove material when reasonably necessary to protect users, enforce these terms, comply with law, or respond to valid rights complaints. We do not promise to review every submission before publication. To report misuse or a rights concern, identify the relevant account or content, explain your concern, and provide a way to contact you.
6. Availability, changes, and fees
The Service is evolving. Features and supported platforms may change, and maintenance or capacity limits may interrupt access. We do not promise uninterrupted service, a particular publishing volume, or continued availability of any integration. Where reasonably practicable, we will give advance notice of material reductions or discontinuation that affect active users.
Creating an account does not authorize us to charge you. Any paid offering will identify its price, billing frequency, renewal, cancellation, and refund terms before you agree to purchase it. We will not convert free use into a paid subscription without your affirmative agreement. Any mandatory consumer rights continue to apply.
7. PostRivet intellectual property
We and our licensors retain rights in the Service’s software, design, branding, and other materials, excluding your content and third-party property. Subject to these terms, you may use the Service for its intended purposes. You may not copy, sell, or otherwise exploit our protected materials except with permission or as applicable law allows. Third-party and open-source components remain subject to their respective licenses.
If you voluntarily send suggestions, you allow us to use them to improve the Service without payment or an obligation to implement them. This permission does not extend to unrelated private account content.
8. Suspension, closure, and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and request account closure using the contact details below. Before leaving, cancel pending posts and revoke connected-platform permissions if you no longer want publication attempts. A closure request is not an immediate cancellation mechanism for an in-progress publication.
We may suspend or terminate access for material violations, security risks, unlawful activity, or when required by law, and may discontinue the Service. We will provide notice and an opportunity to address a problem when appropriate; urgent security or legal circumstances may require action without advance notice. You may contact us to request review of an access restriction.
After termination, your right to use the Service ends. Data is handled as explained in the Privacy Policy. Provisions that by their nature need to continue—including accrued obligations, ownership, liability limitations, and dispute provisions—survive termination.
9. Disclaimers and limitations of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or noninfringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be error-free or that content will be published, remain available, or reach a particular audience. Nothing in these terms excludes warranties or protections that cannot lawfully be excluded.
To the extent permitted by law, PostRivet will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or lost profits, revenue, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from use of or inability to use the Service. To that same extent, our total liability for claims arising out of the Service or these terms is limited to the greater of US $100 or the amount you paid us for the Service during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
These exclusions and limits do not apply to fraud, deliberate misconduct, or any liability that applicable law prohibits us from limiting, including applicable mandatory consumer protections. They apply only to the extent lawful in your jurisdiction.
10. Disputes and general terms
Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a concern informally. This request does not prevent you from seeking urgent relief, exercising statutory rights, or bringing a claim within applicable time limits. These terms do not require binding arbitration or waive participation in a class action. Applicable law determines your legal rights and the courts with jurisdiction.
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. A delay in enforcing a term is not a waiver. You may not transfer your account or this agreement without our consent. We may transfer the Service and related obligations as part of a business reorganization or transfer, subject to applicable law and the Privacy Policy. These terms and any expressly agreed additional service terms form the agreement concerning your use of the Service.
11. Updates and contact
We may revise these terms to reflect changes in the Service, law, or business practices. We will update the date above and provide reasonable advance notice of material changes through the Service or your account email, except when an immediate change is needed for legal or security reasons. Where required, we will request your agreement. Changes do not retroactively remove rights that have already arisen. If you disagree with revised terms, stop using the Service and contact us about account closure.
